Adopt the Black and White style!

Black and white in deco? I say yes, of course! The contrast created by the purity of white and the elegance of black is synonymous with balance, like Yin and Yang. No doubt that if you adopt this style, your interior will be zen and trendy.
And if you do not know how to harmoniously combine these two colors, follow step by step my deco tips. Let's go !

Color tones

All the subtlety of a successful Black and White decoration is knowing how to color. The idea is to associate these two colors with the opponents: we put, for example, a black lamp on a white dresser and vice versa.
To energize this alliance and avoid falling into the "total look" Black and White, we opt for a third bright color such as yellow, blue, pink that will be found on decoration accessories or an element Central like an armchair, furniture or a wall of color around which the decoration will be built.
If you prefer, you can add shades of gray that will harmonize perfectly with your decoration and allow you to maintain a certain sobriety.
You will understand, the watchword of the decoration Black and White is
PARCIMONIE !

Varying materials and graphics

The united does not go well with this choice of decoration, so think about varying materials, textiles and graphics.
Here, we try to break this too graphic side of the Black and White by introducing new materials very complementary to this style like wood, marble, plastic or glass. A touch of wood will distil a note of warmth and authenticity in your room while the glass will plunge it immediately into a bath of light.
We will also play on the mixture of fabrics such as linen, velvet, cotton, silk, leather, lace or wool. Have fun on your sofa with several cushions with textiles and various colors and even install furniture with different materials.
In the same spirit, dotted patterns, curves, stripes, patterns of all kinds as well as matte and shiny aspects can be mixed. Fill up with decorative objects with graphic motifs and think that these different associations will make the whole harmonious, warm and luminous.

Breaking Symmetry

The harmony of black and white imposes a certain natural symmetry, sometimes a little oppressive. To break this symmetry and bring a little softness to your room, play with the rounded, curved and angular furniture. Combine geometric shapes with subtlety and mix! An oval mirror, a coffee table or a round carpet will complement a rather rectilinear furniture and will give a touch of vitality and femininity to your decoration.

Bringing light

The decoration Black and White plays on the alchemy of contrasts, between classicism and modernity. It is therefore possible to envisage adopting it as well in a modern and refined interior as in a more classic or Haussmannian apartment.
To be highlighted this style of decoration requires a lot of luminosity. Then we choose the right light avoiding the halogens that will accentuate the duotone of this decoration and we prefer to install light sources at different height and dimmer. Consider choosing low-energy light bulbs that offer a softer, more subdued light. You may also place light curtains but avoid placing furniture near windows that could prevent light from entering. A last trick and not the least, do not hesitate to place some nice mirrors for a maxi effect luminosity!
