Sublime your ceilings: the timeless art of bronze chandeliers

In the world of high-end interior decoration, few rooms can rival the majesty of a bronze chandelier. Hanging from the ceiling, it draws the eye, captures the light, and instantly transforms a room into a theatrical space. The heir to centuries of tradition, the bronze chandelier is not only a light fixture: it is a work of art, the fruit of exceptional craftsmanship.

Ancestral artisanal know-how

  • The art of shaping light by hand

Bronze, a noble alloy of copper and tin, has historically been acclaimed for creating the finest lighting fixtures. Each chandelier requires dozens of meticulous steps:

    • Lost-wax casting: This ancestral technique consists of shaping a wax model, encasing it in a refractory mold, then pouring molten bronze to take the place of the melted wax. This method guarantees unmatched finesse and allows for very complex patterns.

    • Demolding and deburring: After cooling, the craftsman removes the mold and then eliminates any irregularities, revealing the pure silhouette of each piece.

    • Hand assembly: Arms, cups, pendants and ornaments are welded or screwed with precision, forming a harmonious and solid structure.

    • Chiseling and engraving: On many models, every pattern, acanthus leaf or floral wreath is worked by hand using fine tools, adding depth, brilliance and unique radiance to each chandelier.

    • Patina and polishing: Then comes the finish — golden, silver or aged patinas, application of gold leaf, mirror polishing. The craftsman chooses the technique best suited to the desired style.

    • Electrical assembly: Finally, the chandelier is wired to modern standards, guaranteeing safety and ease of installation.

This expertise, passed down from generation to generation, gives each chandelier an authenticity impossible to reproduce with mass production.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Indicative diameter (in cm): (length + width of the room in m) × 10.
  • Hanging height: 75–85 cm between the table and the lowest point; 200–210 cm clearance for passage.
  • Lighting atmosphere: Dimmable LED 2700–3000 K + wall dimmer for a warm light.
  • Maintenance: soft cloth for patinated bronze (no abrasives); microfiber + demineralized water for glass/crystal (with power off).
