Shaped and polished into a sphere, this fluorescent agate reveals the hallmark chalcedony layering: successive bands, some more translucent, others softly milky, that form concentric rings and fortification patterns around a denser core.

The reading shifts as you turn it in the light: the surface catches highlights, pale “windows” appear, and the strata gain definition.

Sold without a stand (a display base can be purchased separately), the sphere is best placed on a ring stand or a small clear acrylic cradle to prevent rolling and protect the polish.

In a cabinet-of-curiosities spirit, it styles beautifully on a light marble, travertine or ebonized-wood tray with a discreet label card (name, origin), forming a poetic, easy-to-place mineral vignette.

The “fluorescent” note refers to a UV response occasionally seen in agates: depending on the chalcedony layers and tiny inclusions, a subtle glow may appear (hue and intensity vary).

In everyday lighting, soft side light makes the banding come alive; indirect daylight keeps tones legible without glare.

Care is straightforward: dust with a dry microfiber cloth; avoid solvents and abrasives.
