More info

This sphalerite specimen captivates with its high, resinous-to-adamantine sheen and a warm palette ranging from amber honey to deeper browns, sometimes accented by darker facets that sharpen the relief.

Polished or naturally lustrous faces catch the light and define crisp volumes; as you change the angle, subtle internal variations appear, giving the mineral a near-jewellery presence.

Shown in the photos with a brass-coloured metal stand, the specimen retains a clean, contemporary read; the stand is sold separately, allowing you to choose the display that best suits your interior.

In a cabinet-of-curiosities spirit, place it at the centre of a light marble or travertine tray, or against ebonized wood to emphasize the warmth of its tones; a discreet label card (name, origin) and, if desired, a collection number lend a museum-style finish.

Soft side lighting is ideal to draw out brilliance and surface contrast, while indirect daylight preserves depth without glare.

Care is straightforward: dust with a dry microfiber cloth; avoid solvents, abrasives and soaking so the mineral’s sheen, and any optional stand, remain pristine.

For a sense of place, sphalerite calls to mind classic collecting regions: European and Balkan districts, the Elmwood mine area in the USA, Mexico, or Bulgaria, renowned for handsome combinations with calcite or quartz, references that have shaped connoisseurs’ taste for this graphic, luminous mineral.

Poetic yet grounded, the specimen sits naturally on consoles, shelves or desks, either solo or in conversation with other curated curios.

Dimensions: 12 cm height × 17 cm width × 9 cm depth / 4"7 × 6"7 × 3"5.
