With a distinctly 1970s attitude, this elongated glass vase features a central oval opening.

The amber colour is captured inside the body while the outer wall remains crystal clear.

Light travels through the oculus and along the polished curves, then blooms in the thick clear layer to create depth and a warm halo.

It can be shown empty as a stand-alone art object or used as a very minimal vase depending on the aperture, holding one or two stems to emphasise its vertical line.

The making blends hot forming and cold finishing.

A warm amber core is shaped first and hot-cased inside a colourless crystal jacket, a process akin to sommerso.

After annealing to relieve internal stress, the piece is cold-worked: the oval opening is refined, planes are ground and wheel-polished with cerium oxide to a mirror sheen, and the base is trued perfectly flat for stability.

The thick clear casing behaves like a lens that amplifies the inner colour.

As a handmade object, subtle variations in flow lines, micro-bubbles or tone are part of its authenticity.

Amber plus clear pairs beautifully with dark woods, pale stone and burnished brass.

The model described is size L; the same design is also available in size S on the product page, ideal to display as a balanced duo in a curated cabinet-of-curiosities setting.

Care is straightforward: dry microfiber cloth only, no solvents or abrasives, handle with both hands, and avoid prolonged direct sun behind glass.
