Superb bas-relief called "Greek style", evoking the procession of the triumphant hero, returning from a battle.
This theme, appreciated by sculptors from the Neo-Classical period to the 18th century, combines torch-bearing cherubs, laurel wreaths and draped Venus, all participating in this allegory.
Provenance anonymous but certainly from the workshop of a Parisian drawing school in the 19th century.
