This elegant reissue of a Roman stela with Latin inscriptions tells us about the definitive restoration of the Colosseum, by a prefect after an earthquake.

Is engraved in Latin: "Decius Marius Venantius Basilius, very famous governor of the city, patrician and ordinary consul, restored at his own expense the arena and the stage which had been destroyed by a terrible earthquake."

Scholars date this inscription to around 500 AD.
The original is currently in the Colosseum in Italy.

This piece has been hand carved by our craftsmen, giving it its authenticity.

We have skilfully reproduced the patinas and natural wear and tear due to time in our workshops to add even more charm to this stele.
This stele is presented on a matte black metal base, like a museum piece.
