More info

A direct nod to classical statuary, this Discophoros torso captures the poised balance of an athlete holding the discus.

Crisp volumes articulate the muscular planes, while a subtle torso twist sets up a measured contrapposto that brings the figure to life.

The stone-like finish highlights transitions across chest, abdominals and back; the fractured neck and missing arms echo the fragmentary beauty of ancient marbles.

Shown alone on a console, sideboard or pedestal, the sculpture establishes a clear visual axis and lends a cultured tone, ideal for a refined cabinet of curiosities setting.

Its generous scale delivers impact without overwhelming a room.

Pair it with an open art book, a discreet label (title, inspiration, period) or a dark mineral for contrast.

Under soft side lighting, the relief gains depth-the clavicles and obliques read with greater clarity - so the piece unfolds as a study of the classical canon: balanced proportions, calm symmetry and controlled energy.

Care: dust with a dry microfiber cloth; avoid water, solvents and abrasives to preserve the surface and edges.

If displayed on delicate furniture, add felt pads under the base to protect the top and improve stability.

Minor variations may occur from one casting to another; they enhance the sculpture’s character.

A display-ready object, this Discophoros torso bridges classical Greece and contemporary interiors: a graphic, serene and timeless presence that structures a space with elegance.

Dimensions : Height 74 cm × Width 53 cm × Depth 26 cm / 29"1 × 20"9 × 10"2.
