Fragments of feet of a statue of Buddha from the island of Bali, these feet - called "Buddhapada", are real objects of veneration.
On the one hand, they are a symbol of the real physical presence of the Buddha in the past, but on the other hand they remind us that the Buddha is no longer here and that it is appropriate for human beings to reflect on non-attachment.
