More info

A hallmark of French opulence, this Napoleon III chair combines plush upholstery with the sophistication of true Boulle inspiration ornament.

The deep burgundy, hand-tufted backrest embraces the body, while the beechwood frame : sanded, black-lacquered and hand-patinated, serves as a canvas for intricate inlay work.

Inspired by André-Charles Boulle’s masterpieces, our artisans set finely cut, patinated brass into a shell-effect ground (a wildlife-friendly imitation), tracing scrolling acanthus, palmettes and cartouches across the crest rail, the central medallion and the seat apron.

Each tiny element is sawn, matched and hot-glued, then scraped, leveled and polished so the glow of metal contrasts with the depth of the lacquer.

The luxurious narrative continues with gilt-bronze ornaments: rosettes and cabochons accent the back, a refined row of upholstery nails outlines the seat, and chiselled bronze sabots protect and crown the tips of the elegant cabriole legs.

These mounts :cast, burin-finished and gilded, both safeguard the timber and add jewelry-like brilliance that echoes the marquetry.

The seat is traditionally built with webbing and cross-laced straps, layered with high-density foam and wadding for lasting comfort and impeccable resilience.

A statement piece in its own right, this Napoleon III chair shines around a grand dining table, in a refined living room or a luxury hotel suite.

It pairs beautifully with marble tops, black-lacquered tables or noble woods.

Blending princely comfort, cabinetmaking savoir-faire and the sparkle of gilt bronze, it brings an unmistakably prestigious signature to any sophisticated interior.
