This magnificent Napoleon III style pedestal, inspired by the “Retour d’Égypte” aesthetic, reflects the eclectic and theatrical spirit of the Second Empire.

Its solid beechwood structure is enhanced by a refined veneer composed of burr elm, rosewood and palisander, creating a rich and warm visual depth.

Each of the four sides is lavishly adorned with finely chiselled gilt bronze mounts set within decorative panels featuring palmettes, musical instruments, crossed ribbons and laurel wreaths.

At the angles, striking ram heads with extended horns reinforce the Egyptian Revival influence so fashionable under Napoleon III.

Every detail contributes to a balanced yet majestic composition.

The octagonal base rests on gilt bronze lion paw feet, adding sculptural strength and elegance.

The top is crowned with a black marble slab delicately veined in white, whose natural contrasts harmonize beautifully with the brilliance of the gilded ornaments.

A true statement piece, this pedestal is ideal for displaying a bust, sculpture or precious decorative object.
